Review on Camp Chef Sherpa Camp Table and Organizer, 27x17 inch Table Top, 28 inch Table Height by Pete Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of the best devices we've bought - we highly recommend it!

My husband and I sleep in almost every weekend and I needed a way to have everything I needed for cooking and cleaning organized and ready to use as soon as we arrived. It has everything we need and more. Inside a container is our Biolith with a coffee pot, two gallons of pellets, a chopstick grinder, a lighter, lighters, three pairs of gloves, and a rolled up sink. a quart, 2-liter pot and a 12-inch skillet with two plates and two bowls in a smaller pot, and two mugs and a 1.1-liter pot with a camp stove in them (all GSI). The third holds all of our coffee and coffee supplies, cocoa, tea, and oatmeal, as well as all of our camping condiments, hot pads, kitchen towels and towels, a couple of S-hooks, spare trash bags, and a first aid kit. We use an insulated container to store two small metal dog bowls. , four cans of soup, a can of chicken, a large can of beef goulash, four cans of Vienna sausage, muesli bars, fruit snacks, dried meat and other quick energy snacks that we fill up after every trip. Each basket has a clipped index card in a small envelope with a label listing the contents so everyone can quickly find what they need. After all four baskets were filled and placed, I placed our GSI kitchen utensils (in their own case) on one of the bottom drawers and our GSI folding knives (also in their own case) on the other, sliding half a roll of paper towels and a small roll (in a box) of aluminum foil on the sides, slip our camping hatchet on one of the top containers and a Coleman torch on the other and seal tightly. Since it's quite dense, we leave the countertop standing instead of putting it in a bag. It also allows us to place one of our foldable side tables between it and the truck bed wall. It's a bit heavy, but I can lift it in and out of a truck by myself and I'm not that strong. The legs are reasonably efficient and ours slide in and out without too much fuss, but I wish they were a little longer, just a tad firmer, although we didn't have any issues with them flexing or feeling weak, even though they are . Get all the way out if you're not careful, and it can be a little difficult to get back in while holding the whole thing. I've been thinking about getting a second one, mostly as I really like the bins and the extra food, a prep space would be nice but at the moment we just don't have the space to load it onto the truck. The only thing I wish you could buy the containers separately, they are great for storage and organization and would make it that much easier to have all our extra meals ready when we take our kids and grandkids with us. All in all, despite having less than perfect legs, it's in my top 5 base camp purchases along with GSI harness, Wagon Tech rechargeable lights, Gazelle tent and our Biolite. If you didn't want to buy it because of complaints about the legs, seams or zippers, don't. Ours is packed and after a few months of regular use it's still holding up as tight as new and you have to trust me you'll love how much space it saves and how much more organized you'll be!
