I use them to raise and lower bird feeders for maintenance and filling. I raise the bird feeders so the lawn doesn't bang its head on the bird feeders. It is difficult to find inexpensive pulleys for this purpose. You can use thin lines that will make it difficult for the squirrels to reach the feeding spots. Works perfectly. However, it would be easier if the pair came with two brackets.
