I do a lot of work on my cars and recently I had the idea of carefully pinching the hoses to prevent fluid from leaking when not Connect them (yes, I'm late to the party). I've used a vise in the past and have looked for some sort of hose clamp pliers to no avail. I stumbled across these last week and bought them IMMEDIATELY and am so glad I did. I did some brake work last night which required removing the caliper. I took out my new hose clamp and attached it to the line. When I removed the caliper, I didn't lose a drop of fluid. Yes, I still have to bleed the lines, but at least I'm not worried about the master cylinder running dry. Ease of use: These hose clamps have a round pin and a rounded profile on the opposite surface. As long as the hose pliers are accurate, it's more like squeezing the hose slightly. Convenient wing nut adjustment means you can apply just the right amount of pressure without pinching the hose. After the hose clamp was removed it could not be said that it had ever been used. The hose hasn't twisted at all. Every mechanic needs this set!
