Please note that this receiver is only suitable for making your rear speakers wireless from your front speakers. The two rear speakers must be connected together (and to this receiver). The signal needs to be almost in line of sight of the surround box, so we need to have the box in a highly visible location. We bought shelves and hung them about 1.5 to 2 feet below the ceiling, put speakers and a receiver on them and the problem seemed solved. Otherwise, if things like a pillow or a sofa arm are in the way, it will shut down every minute or so and say "Rear Speaker Check". , this article is great.
