Dazzle Review (VHS to) DVD Recorder

Dazzle worked well at first but then the recording slowed down so the end product was poor. I contacted support who advised me, among other things, not to run other programs at the same time as Dazzle. They also advised me to download the latest video capture unit drivers. Downloaded the latest drivers and Dazzle seems to be working fine. I used to use Honestech VHS for DVD 3.0 as well. I had an issue with shaky video and crackling audio. But it has since been fixed after I downloaded updated video capture unit drivers. In my view, the VHS to DVD product is superior to Dazzle. I use 4-6 hour VHS recording products to record DVDs and then burn the recorded files to DVD. The problem with Dazzle is that each DVD can be burned for around 2 hours if you use the Direct-to-DVD feature. If you want to use the function of capturing computer files and then convert those files to DVD, it will take a little over 3 hours of DVD time. Also, the video files created by Dazzle are very large (range 5+ GB). VHS to DVD offers some flexibility in file sizes, offering 4 quality settings and 3 file sizes, the smallest being 3.8GB. Choosing "Medium" quality produces 3.8GB files, each about 125 minutes long. Selecting the "best" quality results in 50 to 60 minutes of recording time for a 3.8GB file. I don't use any product's DVD burning feature. Instead, I use ConvertXtoDVD as it creates a DVD from any number and size of video files.
