Well first of all they didn't even come close to the advertised 7000K, more like 5500K but I can live with that as the factory lights are 4200K. They are brighter than factory bulbs and offer better color separation. I noticed that they are D1S and have both low and high beams in the same bulb, but the high beam is not as bright as the Phillips D1S bulbs that come from the factory, but definitely brighter in the low beam than factory. The connectors are very tight when plugged in, but that's okay, at least they don't rattle. I would give 5 stars if they were closer to the claimed 7000K but then again I wasn't looking for blue light. The higher the Kelvin rating, the lower the lumens, or brightness, you'll get. This is why OEM factory engineers specify 4200K HID (High Intensity Discharge) because you get higher lumens, but the trade-off is a lower CRI, or Color Rendering Index. They offer better color separation at night than factory lights, meaning you can see a little further down the road for added safety. Overall I'm happy with the performance but time will tell if they hold up. Here's the real test! I was supposed to get 4 years of this as the Phillips bulbs lasted over 4 years and were still good but the color was washed out and a little less vibrant. All gas discharge and halogen lamps lose their brightness over time. Shown is a 2012 Cadillac CTS-V with HID projector headlights. The camera shows more purple or blue but since installation (6 hours) they have moved to a more white daylight color. The second photo was taken after the lamps were installed and taken apart after about 3 weeks of use or 12 hours. The color has changed to a lighter white with hints of blue or about 5500K.
