Kayak holder is sturdy and easy to install. Although I had to use a cutting wheel to shorten the mounting bolts so they wouldn't scratch my car's roof. They are a bit long. As an extra measure, I also bought some small protective tabs to attach to the ends of the screws. When kayaks are on the rack, they keep them safe and secure. I do not recommend using the supplied tie down straps and bow/stern ropes. After only two uses, one of my tie-down straps started fraying down the middle and had to be replaced immediately. Bow/stern cables are quite short and may not fit most larger vehicles.
