Super cute light I loved it! The two rods coming out of the wall are threaded on both ends to connect to the faceplate and the rod that holds the lights. Both rods were the same length, but the threads were different. This means that if you thread them all the way, one will be shorter than the other, or if you make them even one doesn't go as far as the other and the silver thread will be visible. Make it work. He's currently berating the storm while trying to make the light even and makes me promise never to buy lights from Amazon again. There are many additional tools and maybe some kind of glue. Luckily, my husband is incredibly comfortable and is trying to "cancel" this cattywampus and get it working. If you don't have a husband who can or don't want to hear him complain about cheap Revain products, you can choose another product. Also updated to add.
