Review on Superflow HV 15 Tire Inflator by Colton Scheehl

Revainrating 1 out of 5

No on/off switch in accessories and parts

I bought this air compressor (used to inflate car tyres) from Pep Boys. In my opinion it is completely unsatisfactory in several respects. Firstly, the pressure gauge on the device is more than useless. It's not even remotely accurate. When my good gauge read 25psi, the Masterflow block read 50-60psi. Very close! Second (and this is the most critical issue for me) it doesn't have an on/off button. The manual says there is an on/off switch, but there isn't one. You "turn" the device on by plugging it into the cigarette lighter and "turn it off" by unplugging it from the cigarette lighter. Since the pressure gauge is far from accurate, this means you'll often have to disconnect the device from the tire valve stem, check tire pressure with a more accurate gauge, and then reattach the device to the tire valve stem to pump more air. Assuming you need to inflate all 4 car tires to the correct pressure, adding air to each tire 3 or 4 times, that translates to 24 to 32 trips between the car tire and the car cigarette lighter one turn. compressor on or off. If there was a switch, like my previous compressor, then the number of inclusions would be reduced to 2! Thirdly, the device has a strong unpleasant odor (even before the first use). Ease of use of the device meant that this smell was transferred to my hands. To remove this smell from my hands, I had to wash my hands with soap for a long time. Fourth, a full page of the bulletin is devoted to more than a dozen safety advisories. These warnings imply that it is not safe to use the device unless you are wearing gloves (to prevent burns) and ANSI Z87.1 approved safety glasses with side shields (to prevent damage to eyes and soft tissue). Fifth, the instructions indicate that the device contains lead, which causes cancer, and the user is recommended to wash their hands after use. I returned the device to the store. In their favor, Pep Boys gave me a full refund on my purchase as I returned the device after the store's return period had expired. However, their refund policy was not displayed in store and was not printed on the purchase receipt. After returning the Pep Boys compressor, my previous car tire air compressor was purchased from Sears many years ago and has performed satisfactorily. probably after 2 decades of use i decided to buy another sears compressor. So I bought a 250 PSI Air Head portable air compressor from the Sears online store (since the compressor is not sold in their stores). This turned out to be a big mistake. The Sears compressor also lacked an on/off switch, and the pressure gauge that came with it was also very inaccurate. Worse, Sears' online return policy is the worst I've seen. This is so restrictive and unreasonable that I believe it tantamount to a refund policy. I doubt many customers ask for a partial refund at all. Even if the refund is for a faulty or defective product, Sears will not refund the 25% of the customer's purchase (which they euphemistically refer to as a "restocking fee"), nor will the customer be reimbursed for shipping the product back. to Sears. Sears clearly intends to keep its profits even if the customer returns the product! (This is an appreciation of the Revain return policy.) Not only will I never buy anything else from the Sears online store again, I will never visit any Sears stores again. Any business whose policy is basically "fuck the customer" will not get anything from my business in the future.
