This is actually a nice little camera. The first thing I noticed is that it has some "weight". It doesn't look like a cheap webcam with a lightweight plastic or tiny glass lens. This thing has a real lens and a solid metal body. The lens is interchangeable too, so if you want a different field of view you can find a replacement. It features manual zoom, manual focus, and manual iris. It's 'varifocal', which means that when you zoom in, the focus disappears and you have to readjust it. Don't expect to use it as a fast zoom handheld camera. It is designed for fixed installation and simply uses the zoom to adjust the bezel. Once you've got it set up the way you want it, the zoom and focus can be locked in place with screw knobs. What I didn't expect was the focus range. This thing can function essentially as a macro, and can focus less than an inch (5mm in the description) when zoomed out and less than a foot at the longest zoom. This allows for a field of view of only 1-2 inches in diameter. Be careful if you want to use it for extreme close-ups. It comes with a fairly long cable which is good for this type of camera. Connect it to a monitor mounted under the ceiling, quite a distance from the computer it's connected to. There are enough cables to get there. I didn't measure, but it should be at least 10 feet long, maybe more. It has two standard 1/4x20 threaded holes - one on the top and one on the bottom. Oddly enough, it comes with a package of screws and plastic wall anchors, but no mounting brackets. There seems to be some kind of mount, but the box doesn't seem big enough to even fit one, so it's a bit odd that they include screws. Luckily I have a ton of different GoPro parts, so I have they ended up using a 1/4x20 to GoPro adapter and standard GoPro adhesive mount. Note. The package includes a hex wrench to remove the lens. with screws, so don't throw them away! Image quality is decent enough for something in this class. Nothing special, but much better than the cheap cameras from a few years ago. The adjustable aperture allows you to adapt to the environment you are in. I think the best use for this type of camera is probably video conferencing when you want to set up multiple cameras, each pointing to a specific spot on the table. This is where zoom and a relatively long focal length come into play. You can mount it on the wall at the other end of the room and zoom in on a specific spot. All in all, not a bad little camera for the money.
