Review on Vintage Trench Lighter with Copper: Reusable Lighter for Men - Perfect Collectible or Birthday Gift! by Albert Tucker

Cool but lousy design

I really wanted to like this lighter and I still like it to some extent. It's heavy, well built and feels good in the hand. Reliable hits, fills up easily, doesn't evaporate as badly as some but probably still a little quicker than most. The problem is that it doesn't light the pipes very well. Once lit, the flame is large enough and burns evenly, but once you hold it over a bowl, sucking in the air needed to draw the flame to the leaf causes the flame to almost die out. . The way I've had success is by tilting both the pipe and lighter at an awkward angle and curling the flame almost around the rim of the pipe, so it's good I'm trying to keep none of my to light thing. I think the lighter just isn't wide enough and the hole can't be big enough to work properly. But with a little practice it can be made to work.
