Cheese cutter uses wire for the blade and that's fine. However, the wires need a special knot at the end to attach them to the handle. I didn't have instructions to replace the wire which is not easy to visualize. The part that attaches the blade assembly is difficult to keep clean and will rust over time. The new replacement I ordered arrived in a box with crushed ends and many of the pictures were rubbed off as if the box had been recycled. The grip nut was missing so could not be attached. The wires were missing. Very disappointing.
