Strong rubber chemical smell, top finish falls off easily.

I wish I didn't spend so much money on 2 packs of these mats because the rubber chemical off-gassing smell won't go away at all. So, after a week now I've taken up my entire new floor and thrown it onto the back lawn. I can't exercise and do deep breathing with these things in the room. Perhaps soaking it in some vinegar and water will help.Also, the top finish came off too easily after some heavy items were placed on the mats.
