Review on 🔧 HHIP 3900 3002 Precision Parallel Pair by Charles Collier

Received these today and started unboxing and derusting but saw 4 of them had rust on the precision surfaces! And not a little. First cleaned with wd40, then with acetone, without success. There was also rust in the mounting holes, but that's not as important as the edges. I'm currently soaking them in oil in hopes that they can be cleaned enough to be usable, but the rust has built up bad enough to be easily felt with a fingernail so I'm not entirely sure. They were covered with oiled paper, so I believe that either the rust was not completely removed from the raw material, or they were left untreated before being wrapped for packing, either way this is not good. I haven't even measured their flatness and parallelism yet. I'm disappointed that there aren't many 5 inch options. The body and packaging were good.
