I have an Onkyo NR-676 receiver, a Pro-Ject Carbon turntable and Paradigm 7 v3 tower speakers that I bought for $170. So, my system is good, but I wouldn't call it the best. This sub helped with the lack of bass frequencies below 45Hz, despite technically only reaching 40Hz. Now all my music is more transparent because I can roll off the bass and let the subwoofer do its job, taking the load off the towers. Driving the classic 808 hip-hop kick drums, although hip-hop fans will likely want a 10-15 inch subwoofer for those long-haul kick drums but sacrifice the low-profile benefits of this unit. Credenza (la dee fucking da, I know) on a wooden cymbal so the thick carpet doesn't get in the way of my sweet, sweet bass waves. Aaaaaah, I'm buying $240 worth of pudding. shhh
