Let me start by saying that I use a lot of filament for my business. Because of this, I tested many different brands of filament to try and find the "one" perfect filament. I considered the IC3D filament to be a good American product to stand behind. That is, until I received it in the mail, the filament was sealed in the box, but I noticed that the spool was covered in dust inside the box. Dust and 200+C hotend are not compatible. So I took a coil and blew it with compressed air next to my HEPA filter so it wouldn't fly across the room and decided to give it a try. Don't ask me how they did it, but when I print with it on black, there are matte surface defects and gloss defects. I've never experienced this in my 3D printing career, even with the cheapest Chinese filament. Also, the dimensional accuracy of both reels I bought are definitely out of spec, making my Ultimaker 2+ very unsteady and requiring constant adjustment of the filament feed. This thread is almost as good as its Chinese counterpart but costs 50% more! What a good deal. Needless to say, I will no longer be buying from IC3D. use at your own risk
