I have another brand of knee pads that look identical (online) and cost $10 more than this one. My husband has a sore knee and tried my knee pad for a couple of nights and said it helped so I switched to a cheaper one to see if there was a difference. Other than this brand being a bit thicker I don't see any difference. However, there is a difference in the smoke smell factor: the other brand stunk for almost two weeks. It didn't smell at all when it came out of the box. Density, softness and elasticity of the foam are the same in both cases. I have not attempted to remove the cover from either brand for a wash so I cannot comment on how durable the cover will be over time or after removal for a wash. and put it back on. Due to the lack of information, I'm giving it five stars for now.
