Works great!: Chargers

GOOD Manual easy to understand, not too much information but enough. I installed this on a Mercedes Sprinter Van project and was very impressed with it. It is connected to both an alternator and solar panels (200W). It smoothly switches between sources depending on which can provide more power at any given time. this. When I turn on the ignition it starts charging the house battery up to 30A if needed and as soon as I turn off the ignition it switches back to my solar panels so the battery always stays charged. It charges the battery with a true three-stage charge (volumetric, absorption, trickle charge). It also automatically adjusts the floating current to compensate for the loading on the device. For example, if my fridge + roof fan draws 8 amps, the current is increased to balance the load + a little floating current to keep the battery 100% charged. It's easy to connect and program, and the device feels solid and well-built. This is the cheapest DC-DC charger and MPPT solar charge controller on the market that I could find. Win win if you ask me. Not bad, but there are some downsides. 1. It only accepts 45V input voltage from solar panels. This may limit the number of panels you can connect depending on your configuration, but this can be avoided with planning. The maximum charging current is 30A. It's relatively probably best not to charge batteries above 30A, but if you're in a situation where you need to charge quickly then this device won't do the job. The 50A version offers a relative advantage in this situation. Overall I am very impressed and very surprised that nothing else has been written about this block. Try it, you won't regret it.
