I say tail lights because they don't mess up! The button on the USB does not change the mode, the remote control does not change the mode, at first they constantly lit up in different colors every few meters, but after trying various means of changing the mode so that they blink, I unplugged the USB from the surge protector I plugged them into and used the AC adapter and the lights didn't come on. The green light on the USB came on to show the timer was on and the remote turned it off but this set sucks!
