I bought this to use with my HP Envy x360 laptop which only had 2 regular USB ports and 1 USB-C port. I don't currently have any other products that use USB-C, so this would be a "useless port" for me. But I stumbled across this adapter and now have an extra regular USB port to use when I need it. It was a steal compared to the retail price. The only thing I wanted was aluminum instead of plastic. I bought the black one thinking it would hide the dirt better than the white one, especially since the flex part in the middle is rubber material. I also went with this design because I didn't want to block other ports if I bought a more compact adapter. I recommend this product.
