Indicator lights are on the underside of the tester. It's not very easy to read. :( All vehicle mounted 7 pin trailer light sockets are fitted with a spring loaded cover at the top with a small clip to keep the trailer plug from falling out. So there is only one way to connect this tester. Other than that it is just wrong to rely on the Laying back to read the indicator lights.It should have been done in another country that doesn't use this type of system!I should have given that 2 stars (because it actually worked) but I guess I'm feeling generous .
