Pros: Classic design, Proven endurance Cons: None. Best Use: Wood molding and framing work. My father had a leather-handled Estwing hatchet. I've always liked the design and the way it works. I needed a hammer and after looking around found the 1923 Estwing design was still in production. Of course I bought one and was so excited about the idea of owning something with a classic and time-tested design that I now have an almost complete set of leather-handled Estwing tools. You can no longer buy an American-made "Perfect Handle" wrench or screwdriver, but Estwing continues to make their percussion instruments to the same standards they did 90 years ago when they designed their original.
