The old blue nose sucker is worthless compared to this. No, as the snot sucker you will not get snot in your mouth. It's super easy to clean between sucks and change the foam filter. Our children didn't love it but it was effective and not as torturous as other parent jobs. We finally started asking our almost three-year-old when he cried for a tissue if he would like to be snot sucked or try blowing his nose, and that was motivation to learn and we now have a nose blower. Will keep this for emergencies still. The electric version is bomb but equally effective, if you can blow up a balloon you can snot suck manually and save a few bucks.
