This review is for the Sistema 3.5 Cup Oats to Go Bowl. I had my doubts about buying this bowl after seeing several reviews that said the oatmeal exploded all over the microwave when used. I bought the product anyway, desperate for a light morning breakfast and hoping the reviewers found something out. Unfortunately, after my first attempt at using this bowl (with 1/2 cup oatmeal and 1 cup water, microwaved at 100% power for 2 minutes and 30 seconds), I opened the microwave door and found that the bowl was throwing up oatmeal . All of my microwave and other reviews were correct. HOWEVER, stubborn and determined to find a way to make this bowl work, I continued reading the reviews and found that one of the reviewers suggested microwaving oatmeal at 60% power for 3 minutes. I tried it and - VOILA, IT WORKS. There was no spilling of oatmeal and no mess when I turned the microwave down. This is really a great product if you turn down the power and heat the oatmeal for 3 minutes. If for some reason you are still having a problem at 60% power then I suggest experimenting and reducing the power even more.
