I filled up a 2003 Tahoe A/C unit only to find the Schrader valve core was leaking on the low pressure side. I was able to put a cap on it so it didn't spit out all the freon and ordered it for overnight delivery. I received it the next day. With this tool I was able to easily replace the valve core without releasing the freon, which would have cost me more than the price of the tool - my truck has rear air conditioning and requires almost 4 pounds of R134a. .Use this tool to mount the adapter on the high or low pressure side of the ball valve and then install it on the service port with the valve open. You then connect one of the "glue" tools to the service port valve core and screw its base onto the ball valve. You then unscrew it to remove the valve core, pull the handle all the way back, and then close the ball valve. You can then remove the stem from the ball valve, replace the core (it is held in place by a small o-ring in the stem) and reinstall the new valve in the reverse order of removal. Easy as pie, took about 5 minutes. The only way this kit could have been better is if it came with extra valve cores. It's one of those tools you only buy when you need it, but oh my god, if you need it, do it. Too bad none of my local auto parts stores have them.
