Just as good as an electric chopper

Yes, they get stuck if the blades aren't cleaned, but the same thing happens with electric choppers and they never need to be lubricated with oil. Don't do anything stupid that will jam up an unprofessional shredder (multiple sheets, unopened credit card junk, etc.) and it will work just fine. You can even cross-cut to turn your delicate documents into confetti, which requires a quality shredder if using electricity. They work best if you wipe down one side at a time and clean the blades with the included cleaner.
