The car is a 2002 F250 4 door long platform and while it fit well I didn't have to sand anything to make it fit. This starter revs the engine incredibly fast and lets the truck start very quickly, which is a godsend in winter. HOWEVER, I bought this starter in February 2017 and it was having issues with magnet wear or not being able to transfer the power needed to actually spin the starter. Interstate 1000 amp batteries less than 2 years old over 12.6 volts after being outdoors for several days. The engine was hot, the batteries were charged, and I had to hold the key in the crank position for about 5 more seconds before the starter finally clicked and the engine started cranking. It started very quickly when it started, but I need to get it out and check for electrical problems before it snows. The factory starter lasted 15 years, but this one can fail in less than 2 years. The guarantee doesn't mean anything at the moment, but at least it's cheap. I'll probably take it to my local mechanic and they'll just replace all the crap parts because mechanically this thing works really well. 2. The internally charged side of the solenoid is already worn and the starter will not turn unless the batteries and leads get hot. I have already checked and replaced some wires in the starter circuit to no avail and also connected the ignition key to power to try and test the starter circuit myself. I connected the entire circuit directly to the starter and it still oscillates. If I wash it with brake cleaner and electrical component cleaner, or hit it with a broom handle, it will most likely go away. Spend your money on either a genuine gearbox or a premium gearbox because this thing will suck you in if you're not careful. A 1 year warranty on something meant to last 10 years should have been the first warning.
