Review on VViViD Smoke Adhesive Headlight Tinting by Joshua Flame

More like window tint than vinyl

I've used Vvivid vinyl before with great results. I ordered it expecting the same ease of use. My taillights are big and curved, so I knew from the start this was going to be a problem. First, the window tint feels stiffer than their vinyl products I've worked with before. When heated, it stretches and can be shaped, but doesn't feel as flexible. Secondly, the glue sticks immediately after application. The other vinyl I used has good tack but pulls on easily for adjustment and stretching. This material adheres instantly, making it much more difficult to remove air bubbles and the like. The only way I've found to actually make this work is to spray the film and surface like you would a window tint. Third, air bubbles were a problem. Previous Vvivid products I have used have been very easy to eliminate air pockets. This shade didn't seem to have the same properties and being transparent the air pockets were very visible. After more than an hour of work on the first rear light with very poor results, the film tore. Not having enough supplies to make both lights, I decided to use a spray tint for now (although those results were also less than I wanted). I can still highly recommend other Vvivids vinyl products but I can't say I will be using this particular film again.
