I've always had trouble cutting fabric with just a ruler, no matter how hard I tried, it always deviated a little. So I discovered this little gem. And OMG what does it matter to me. Now all I have to do is move the ruler, not the cloth, and it's straight every time. And what a time saver. I love making appliques and I've made my own 10" x 8 1/2" blocks and they're really hard to sort of cut into squares. This is not difficult for me, and it also cuts several layers at the same time. So I spend more time doing fun things, sewing, instead of boring, tedious cutting work.
