Although I love how it cuts

Although I like how it cuts, I hate the way it's marked. The markings are too thick to make a very accurate measurement. One inch has at least one break in the markings so you can tell where your fabric is in relation to the line, but there is no break at half an inch and the line is too thick for any accuracy. I really prefer the markings on regular Fiskars rulers, orange and black. The lines on it are thin enough to allow for a much more precise cut. The 6 x 24" version is also better marked,

Blocks and shapes of any kind, much easier!

I've always had trouble cutting fabric with just a ruler, no matter how hard I tried, it always deviated a little. So I discovered this little gem. And OMG what does it matter to me. Now all I have to do is move the ruler, not the cloth, and it's straight every time. And what a time saver. I love making appliques and I've made my own 10" x 8 1/2" blocks and they're really hard to sort of cut into squares. This is not difficult for me, and it also cuts several layers at the same time. So I spend

Almost 5 stars. in Sewing

For my purposes of precisely cutting paper and stamp sheets, that's almost 5 stars. It's perfect for my needs but a few flaws cost it a star. #1 The blade retention mechanism can easily detach, which can result in a wrong cut. Mine was loose and the blade fell off when cutting after 10-20 cuts. A loose blade can also cause cuts to shift to the point of failure on precision work. As the owner, ALWAYS TIGHTEN THE KNIFE HOLDER SCREW EVERY TIME YOU START CUTTING. The good thing is that you can do…

Not for longer pieces of fabric

This is a great tool, works perfectly; Unfortunately, I wasn't the one who cut the fabric a meter long. I'm sure it would be great for small fabric cuts, but not so much for longer cuts. The learning curve for this tool was too steep for me to quickly cut and use properly. Because I had to take a tool or cloth, reposition it, and keep cutting, a real ruler and slicer was a lot quicker for me. The units are slightly different due to the splint and you will definitely need a self-healing mat…

Cons
  • socket required.
