After we moved to the LA area this is the third humidifier I've bought. The first two are easy to use but very difficult to clean. The water tank either has hard-to-reach places or the hole is too small for hands or arms. I stumbled across Smartmi after buying two home appliances: portable air purifiers and a floor fan with a rotating base. I really like their design and product quality! This humidifier consists of only 3 parts: upper tank, lower tank and turbine. It is very easy to move the top, add water or clean the tank. The water tank is really big to last a long time. When the machine is on, no steam escapes from the top to keep furniture and carpets dry. The screen displays the current indoor humidity and water tank capacity. You can always easily tell if you need to add more water or not. When the water is low, a red flashlight will appear on the screen to warn you, and the machine will stop automatically to avoid danger. The best part is that it can be controlled and configured via a mobile app. All my Smartmi devices are connected to Mi Home app for work. In the apps I can set the humidifier to turn on and off automatically. Sometimes, when I'm very busy taking my son to school in the morning, I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn off the car. I'll keep an eye on it to see if the self cleaning mode works. If this is the case, even if we used filtered water in previous humidifiers, it can help remove any possible buildup. So far I can really recommend this SMART machine.
