Review on Nilight 18033C 30000LM Driving Warranty by Adrian Retana

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent brightness and construction, non-trivial installation, one broken LED chip

I bought this last week with a Nilight wiring harness and just finished installing it on my 2018 Subaru Forester 2.5i. Here are my notes: 1. The fixture has good build quality. The aluminum body, reflector, front cover are all quite beautiful.2. The wiring harness is everything and sufficiently long.3. Breaking through the firewall turned out to be a little easier than expected. Just above the accelerator pedal is a large bushing with a pre-punched hole in the insulation. It's easy to cut a hole in the grommet and thread the plug/wire through.4. This wiring harness comes with a bulky switch that will not fit in the small square hole on the stock fog light switch. However, there are two additional rectangular switches directly below. The size is similar to the switch body. After some fiddling with a dremel and file I was able to install a Nilight switch in it. It's not the most elegant arrangement, but it suits me.5. The light is not very focused and I think it will be a good floodlight in rain/fog. I installed it on my front bumper and it took some adjustments to make sure it didn't show over the low beam.6. I didn't know why I looked directly into it, it's so bright. But I could see a dead LED. I later took this shot with three ND filters. I know these high brightness LEDs operate at high current and high heat and will eventually deteriorate and die. But in the new block there should not be a burned out LED. Overall I like this addition to my car. I'm waiting for a replacement block from Revain.
