The wicks burn out very quickly
I've made homemade tiki torches out of beer bottles and I love the ceramic lids that come with them, but the wicks burn out too quickly. I tried homemade tiki fuel and bought it at the store. I ended up buying 2 packs of wicks from Dollar General for $1 and cut them in half so I could slide them through the hole in the ceramic caps that came with them.
