They definitely run small, as stated by the manufacturer in the description (so it's not clear why people have responded to questions that they are true to size because they are not). Compression pants should fit snugly, but the seam under the waistband is narrow, so putting them on is not a problem for very slim people, but not ideal for tummies. My biggest issue with them is that they appear to be high waisted in the photos (and I even looked for high waisted compression shorts to get hold of them) and they are definitely low. You will have to return.
