Not used for painting. I used it to protect my furniture from French Mastiff puppies. Definitely not as pretty as real sofa covers but they are much more durable and cover every inch of my furniture and can be tucked under to give full coverage. One day when these puppies stop running and jumping on the furniture, I can clean them up. But now they save my furniture from destruction. I. They are washable. I don't wash mine, I give them to my painter husband and buy new clean ones. I definitely get my money's worth.
