worth your money!

Background - (We use this for gerbils but are looking for other sizes for our poison dart frogs and gecko) We originally used a 50 gallon tank for our gerbils. Being 5ft 2in I struggled to communicate with the guys and even clean their tank without using a ladder and barely getting into the tank. So I started my mission to find a more comfortable hull for us. We have a few Exo-Terra tanks with front swing doors for our other four-legged kids, but the front vent strip is plastic that our boys would destroy, so we started looking at other alternatives. Review - this suitcase was exactly what we were looking for. and arrived in perfect condition! We bought a 14" x 7" x 14" aviary for the same price as a tank half the size at our local pet store; so for the price it is worth the money. I was very impressed with the quality and attention to detail of the tank. If we had discovered these tanks while preparing our home for the arrival of our dart frogs and geckos, we would definitely have bought them a different size, which leads me to one of my biggest "complaints". These tanks sell incredibly fast and don't seem to sell out often, especially in smaller sizes. The bottom of the tank comes pre-assembled for you, has a black glass bottom and allows you to pour a few inches of water or, in our case, bedding. One thing I would like to say about this aquarium is that it is quite heavy which is a big plus for me as I have a dog who loves to put his paws up and watch the gerbils run and now has to I don't worry about them anymore. knock him down. But just keep weight in mind when assembling, and while I assembled it myself whenever possible, I'd recommend an extra pair of hands to make life a little easier. Once you have the base where you want it, it's pretty easy to build. The rods screw into the base, you slide the glass guide down the rods, insert the glass and then line up the top mesh and screw in and you're done. (The shelves you see in the last picture we added ourselves to give the boys more space and are not included.) The lock on the front is good and the key is attached to a suction cup so you can put it in can keep nearby. The tank has been beautifully made and makes a great addition to our home. We highly recommend them and are really looking into other sizes.
