I've had to install new front and rear lights on my front porch for several years and finally got around to it. These lanterns are very pretty, but not too "elegant" to go anywhere. I chose them because of the clear lens over the frosted ones and also because I put in the new LED bulbs. The biggest problem with installation is figuring out how to hold the device while making sure the wiring and connectors are secure. The problem is that you have to screw it down before attaching it to the box. That being said, you'll need to dry mount the box to ensure you have the correct length of screws so you can attach the bracket. I ended up measuring the jig on the mounting surface and adding about 1/4 inch bolt length so the nuts holding the jig would not fail when tightened. Install the supplied screw in each hole on the crossbar and use a lock nut to prevent twisting. After that, have someone help you so they can hold the light while you attach the nuts and base, and then simply attach the two bolts and use the nuts to secure the light. Sounds tricky, though once you get it, it's not so bad. The main thing is that they look beautiful!
