We got it so the kid doesn't run away from home. Took about an hour to install as the screws are soft metal and fell off right away so the screwdriver couldn't tighten them. After searching the house for spare screws or about the same size, we attached them to the door. tried to open the door. It opened instantly! The notch is so shallow and rounded that the slightest push on it from the side of the door lifts the latch and it opens with little or no resistance. Child lock and security was included, we immediately ordered a higher quality door lock . Admittedly it was about $10 more expensive but it installed in 5 minutes and best of all it prevents the door from opening! It's worth the extra cost in the knowledge that a small child won't run away or open the door to strangers. Stay away from this cheap junk! It goes in the trash where it belongs.
