Smaller than I expected but lots of cedar smell to irritate and scare off pests

I tried to pull the dimensions from the description and expected the balls to be the size of a golf ball. They are smaller than this. The rings in particular are less thick and smaller in diameter than what I have in the picture. But adding a handful of these to my wool-filled storage container instead of one or two at each end seems like more than enough cedarwood flavor to make a difference. You can smell the cedar if you place it correctly. nose, and even upon first opening the plastic bags they're packed in, it's not at all overwhelming like mothballs after they've been unpacked and placed where they're needed. A slight cedar smell lingers in the air after they're removed, but not at all the unpleasant "pine" smell that some cleaners have, or the burning and sickening smell of mothballs. I have noticed a few small "crystals" on some of the rings as stated in the product description which are sometimes present in real cedar wood products. They shouldn't be stained, and if that's a concern you can simply wipe them down with a clean cloth before placing them in a wool or wool cloth. I've only kept them in my fabric baskets for a couple of weeks but so far there is no evidence of more crystals although I can still smell a nice cedar scent when I open the baskets with about 6 rings in the 25 liter storage. I put a few skeins in the pockets of our wool coats in the front closet and you won't smell them in the closet unless you move those coats and/or put your hands in the pockets.
