Review on πŸ”΄ Pyrex Prepware 1-Cup Measuring Cup: Transparent with Vibrant Red Measurements by Matthew Hoang

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Color fading, lines becoming illegible

I bought two of these measuring cups (size 1 cup) about two years ago to replace some really old ones that had spouts chipped off - as far as I remember these were the ones I replaced got probably twenty years old. And, surprise! I could still read the writing on the old cups and now I wish I'd just put the chips down. These new mugs were used just as much as the old ones, but I couldn't see the markings anymore, so they were thrown away. I've tried using a permanent marker, even tried etching the glass with markers. It was still too difficult to see the markings clearly - even in bright light. Yes, I put them in the dishwasher to sterilize them. I did the same with my old mugs and had no problems. In fact, if you think about it, I have my mother's old Pyrex mug around here somewhere that still has the markings on it - barely visible but there. It must be from the 1950s. I gave two stars because they were still solid and had to bang the counter a lot when working. The quality is superior to anything when it comes to kitchen appliances. Shame on you Pyrex for lowering your standards.
