This measuring cup looks like it has a decent spout in the picture, but when it arrives it only has a tiny spout with no protruding edges. Therefore, you can't pour anything out of it without it all just whipping around the sides of the spout, no matter how slowly you pour it. You'd think they'd checked, but apparently they didn't care about this simple matter. Maybe they saved 1 cent by not putting fenders on it? Either way, waste of money.

unsafe, ugly shaped measuring cup!

We thought it was a standard 1 cup Pyrex measuring cup but it isn't, it's very wide and tall with the 8 ounce mark well on the wide neck but worst of all is that the handle is so short, what is uncertain. Seriously, it's a lot shorter than the picture. Due to the mug's wide profile, the handle is too short to give the user a good enough grip to balance the mug when full. Dangerous! And what's worse, not only will it NOT be used, it will NOT be returned! Terribly disappointing, thought we were…

Not an anchor I wanted to replace

When I broke my 8 ounce measuring cup which I have used for over 30 years I assumed it was the Pyrex brand I ordered from Revain. The Pyrex model was wider than I wanted (and therefore more prone to measurement error), but it was my fault for not paying attention to the brand of cup I used, so I kept this cup in hopes that it would continue to grow around me passage of time. It's not like this. There's nothing wrong with it, and I understand why others might prefer a wider stance, and it's just

The toes are ridiculous. But work if you pour slowly.

Bought both this and a 4 cup Pyrex measuring cup: I grew up 30 minutes from where Pyrex was born and made for years (Corning, NY) hence do I know my Pyrex product. I bought these 2 mugs as my 2 old gold pieces are getting old; One had a chip. These new mugs say "Made in the USA" so I'm glad to see that. My only gripe so far: The spouts are hilarious. They are exactly 1/2 smaller than the original and need to be poured very slowly. Take one look and you won't believe it works if you're used to…

Order it personally, don't think it will be sent.

Let me start by saying that a Pyrex glass measuring cup is an indispensable item in my kitchen. My parents have one who is at least 10 years old. My girlfriend's parents have a 20 year old The things are in the kitchen, accurate and easy to clean. If you buy this from the kitchen store or Target or whatever, it's $15 and a full 5 stars. However, ordering it from Revain and relying on the delivery service to handle it well is a whole different story. Mine was broken in several places, glass was…

It's not your mother's Pyrex!

I have 2 old Pyrex glass measuring cups that belonged to my mother: 2 and 4 cups. I bought this size for 1 cup and expected the same quality and performance. NO! Older version sizes have less wasted space above the top line and therefore the "PYREX" logo is less visible. This 1 cup mug is so large (to accommodate a large logo) that it is almost the same size as my 2 cup mug. Why bother getting a size smaller when it really isn't smaller? In addition, 1 cup is poured very poorly. Unless you pour

How could a bloody measuring cup get a bad review? Continue reading.

I never thought I would be reviewing something as versatile and basic as a measuring cup, especially from Pyrex which is a household name (and as far as I know the only common maker of them in all of life ). Yes, this is a one cup measuring cup - this means the measuring lines can only be used for one cup. But it holds more than two cups of water! That means the extra space it takes up on your shelf is wasted. And it really is worse than it looks - because it's so wide and you can't stack…

Color fading, lines becoming illegible

I bought two of these measuring cups (size 1 cup) about two years ago to replace some really old ones that had spouts chipped off - as far as I remember these were the ones I replaced got probably twenty years old. And, surprise! I could still read the writing on the old cups and now I wish I'd just put the chips down. These new mugs were used just as much as the old ones, but I couldn't see the markings anymore, so they were thrown away. I've tried using a permanent marker, even tried etching…
