Nice looking small decorative antique bronze swing lever latch, a good accent for your woodworking projects. Don't expect it to be something it wasn't designed for. This is a decorative lock, not a security lock. Any kid can figure out how it works in seconds. Adults may need a little more time :) The left/right hinges are needed when using two clasps on opposite sides of the jewelry/souvenir box. We recommend attaching a self-adhesive felt buffer between the frame and the door/window. Then carefully close the door/window with the clip by gently squeezing the felt pad. With the clamp in place, use the Vix #3 center drill bit and place the locking hook on the desired location on the surface. Secure with double-sided tape or by hand, whichever you prefer. Now just start the hole with a vix chisel. The screws that come with the latch are about 1/4" long, so just start the hole with a Vix bit, maybe 1/16" deep. Using a hand screwdriver, insert only the first screw, move the latch to the final position, and use a Vix drill to drill another hole, use a hand screwdriver to install the second screw one by one, and after the first screw is installed, move the latch to the to achieve final positioning. Voila! I bought two more for my gear, I know I will use them in future products.
