I gave 5 stars because it works as intended. It has a lot of stitches that can sometimes pull or break hair, but the same goes for any hair device under $30. It straightens my hair well even though I have naturally straight hair so I don't know how it would work on curly hair. But it adds shine and removes the general waves left after blow drying. It took me a few tries to figure out how to use it. You can't just brush your hair or you'll end up with lifeless, flat hair. You need to turn the brush over so the bristles are pointing away from the head. Also, don't think you can skip brushing your teeth. You still need to comb your hair to make sure there are no knots before using it. Conclusion: It works, but don't throw away the iron. You can do a lot more with a flat iron (e.g. curl your hair).
