I love the fan very much. However, I read an excellent review on Lowe's lighting page and it's 100% accurate. But it's actually a bonus for me. Pros: - Styling - Airflow is excellent - Has a nice buzzing sound that creates a kind of white noise that is very helpful for bedtime. ** To update. I didn't realize how much I wanted directional light. The biggest benefit of directional lighting is that I can turn on the light at night without flooding my bed and sofa.** Did I mention style? (I bought a great LED remote from Honeywell) - The lighting is dimmer and really only provides three well-lit areas of the room. (So my room has four walls/corners.) Yes. The choice of bulbs is fairly limited as the GU10 base is only rated at 5 watts per bulb so there is no option to upgrade to a more powerful light. **(I put in 5.5w LEDs that get a little warm but no problem)** Sounds bad doesn't it? I actually really like the fan. The light goes well with my room decor. It's weird to say that I like being in the shade in a well-lit room, but it really has a calming effect. It's similar to the feeling you get when you dim the lights in a room. Kind of reassuring. It's like capturing this moment for as long as you want. But the rest of the room is actually lit so you can see really well. It's weird and it's great. I still enjoy it. I have absolutely no desire to buy another fan.
