Review on Enhanced Quilting Tool: Lightning-Fast Lemoyne Star by Angela Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This template along with its technique will give you a star block with all points aligned and perfectly square blocks!

First, when sewing stripes you have to be near perfect and have a 1/4 stitch. I would advise securing everything with pins, including when sewing the starting strips. This tool is useful for cropping each unit to be the same size as all other units. Note: When using this tool, remember to line up all diamond lines as accurately as possible and make sure the center line is centered. As with most of their templates, you can increase the size a bit to ensure you have enough wiggle room when cropping. I increased the size of the background fabric strip by 1/2-3/4" more than allowed, giving me a generous 1/2" seam allowance on all four sides of the block. It is extremely important (when connecting the units of this star) to always plug, plug, and plug to make sure all points match. The more precise you sew and sew, the more beautiful your star will be. I now have the ability to make perfect looking, dare I say professional looking, Lemoyne stars. Another excellent pattern and technique from Deb Tucker. The image below is the result of many attempts to always use this template with Clover Fine Quilting Pins to ensure accuracy. I would recommend Clover Flowerhead thin quilting needles with all their patterns.
