Although I'm using USB 3.0 and standing directly in front of a Wi-Fi modem (for testing), it doesn't deliver true gigabit throughput. Probably at best the download speed is almost half that. To get anywhere near gigabit I need to be wired. Not sure if the cable modem or ISP is to blame, or this adapter, or all 3. As far as I can tell after doing some more research, trying to get gigabit over wifi is pretty much impossible, so I'd say that it works just as well as one would expect in that sense. On the other hand, I think all of those gigabit adapters are guilty of false advertising.
