Plastic parts can be a problem

The drain fitting has a plastic stem and is designed to bolt to a flange that fits through the drain hole. The plastic washer is designed to fit inside the shank to effectively seal the joint between the flange and the shank. This plastic washer limits the thread space on the shank and ensures a secure connection to the flange. Also, you'd better screw the flange and shank tight the first time, because if you're having trouble aligning the threads on two separate parts and have to fiddle with it to get a good connection, you're likely to damage the threads on the threads. Plastic tail. If you damage the threads on the tail section enough, it becomes unusable. I had to go out and buy an all metal faucet to replace the faucet that came with this faucet. Blame me for not making a good connection the first time, but plastic doesn't do well for a drain connection.
