Bought to calibrate Big Green Egg and Weber Genesis grills. Started with Weber, no food, just low, medium and high temperature grilling. At high temperatures, around 600 degrees, the thermometer's face turned brown and could not be read unless held close enough to see through the dark glass. We've tried cleaning it after it's cooled, but to no avail. I contacted the seller who said try again and if it doesn't get better we will replace. Tried again on medium settings, still a dark face so contacted the seller again for a replacement but got no response. Decided not to continue. I would not recommend this item and seller. I need to change my original rating. I was contacted by the seller who explained the misunderstanding and they replaced my order for free. The seller was adamant about the correctness of the sale and I appreciate his effort. I would recommend the seller, maybe not a thermometer.
