I bought a pair. My oven is old and works reliably, but the dial does not show the internal temperature. That's why I bought them so that the food doesn't burn and I can cook and bake properly. Very good to see through the oven door and I even hung it on the baking rack without any problems.

I wanted to see if the temperature setting in our oven matched the actual oven temperature. These thermometers work well and both these thermometers and our oven read the same temperature. This confirms that the problem is in the way we cook some dishes and not in the oven.

I ordered these mainly for my toaster which is not very big to start with and didn't fit the regular sized thermostat. This one is perfect. Since my toaster doesn't have an interior light like my regular oven, I have to shine a flashlight on the sensor to see the temperature. but it's no problem to be sure that I have the right pace.

Update: Seller got it right Many months later the seller contacted me and sent me replacement thermometers for the ones that didn't work. Basically, they work with one small flaw. Not perfect, but usable. Good service from the seller. ---- I've ordered a pair of these that don't work the same way. That is, they are both confused in the same way. Buying two units allows you to compare their accuracy and your oven temperature settings. They seem accurate, but should be larger and easier to see since you're usually looking at them from a distance. I wouldn't buy it again unless you want something small. Another thing I realized late on was that you can't hang them on a pole and read directly on yourself because there isn't a notch on the hanger like most oven thermometers have. I downgraded it one star because it was a serious design flaw

Bought to calibrate Big Green Egg and Weber Genesis grills. Started with Weber, no food, just low, medium and high temperature grilling. At high temperatures, around 600 degrees, the thermometer's face turned brown and could not be read unless held close enough to see through the dark glass. We've tried cleaning it after it's cooled, but to no avail. I contacted the seller who said try again and if it doesn't get better we will replace.
