Fabulous telephoto lens for reporting. Consistently reliable; a workhorse. Of course, this is not a lens for taking artistic shots, but that's not what it's for. Of course, the 24-70 F/2.8 is superior in terms of image quality, with completely functional 24mm and 70mm portraits that are considerably more intriguing, etc., but it also costs significantly more, despite the lack of a stub. When considering the lens's price, its many drawbacks are outweighed by its benefits. You'll need to prioritize either a wide aperture 24-70 or a flexible 24-105.
